Welcome to BYC. I started with chickens over the summer and the people of BYC were great. Feel free to visit my BYC Page for my blog links that you may find informative or amusing.

I do not wash my eggs , based on the advice of people here. The eggs have a natural coating, called the bloom, that is a barrier to bacteria. So long as my eggs are clean, I refrain from washing them at all. Messy ones get enough cleaning with hot water to make them safe.

I wash mine before use, or before selling them as I would probably not get repeat customers if I sold them eggs with poo on them. I leave eggs sit on my counter in the egg bucket until I do wash them, once washed I refrigerate as soon as they are dry. I do not use any type of soap or cleaner, only warm water.
