We have one female muscovy, who is laying eggs. Our neighbour said that we always need to leave one of the eggs in her nest, so that she'll keep laying. Is that true? Today she left her egg in a different spot, and she doesn't sit on them anyway. Can we just collect the egg each morning?

She may got to a differnt spot each morning to lay unless you have her closed up till she lays, alot of us wait till they have laid before opening up for the day, mine are usually finished by 7am. but i collect eggs daily and never leave any in the nest I'm trying not to encourage broodiness.

I think laying in the other spot was just because she was upset by a storm that night, and didn't want to come out of hiding.

She's continuing to lay in her usual nest, and I'm taking the egg away every morning. Not leaving them isn't stopping her. Thanks for making me brave enough to go against my neighbour's advice.
