We've started getting 5-6 eggs a day here in the last week. Went to let the girls out and someone had a laid an egg in the run. It was quite dirty but after washing, it is really quite unusual. I've read that rough eggs or dark spots on eggs can indicate low calcium but this particular egg has all that going on plus is white in one area and then has these larger dark spots (in addition to speckles). (Barred rock hens)
Concerns or should I just appreciate it as a unique egg from a new layer and enjoy it?
We just switched over from the grower/finisher feed to layer feed. I've been purchasing Dumor brand. They have oyster shell in the coop and they get to free range about half the week.
