so I just did my first hatch. I set 62 eggs, 32 hatched, 8 more are still hatching, 13 turned out to be infertile but 9 died. I want to know what went wrong so I did eggtopsies on them. 2 were pretty small and must have died halfway maybe, 2 seemed very watery and yolks were not at all absorbed, 2 were good sized and had absorbed some yolk but no pips (none pipped except one) and I couldn’t see anything wrong, 1 had a yolk that when punctured was green (which I assume is bacteria?) and one was foamy inside (weird! ????) the last chick pipped to where I could see the beak but then died in shell.

Any advice on this would be super appreciated! I really want to learn and do better!

Thanks so much everyone!

There could be many factors that causes multiple results. It could be fluctuations of temps, humidity, bacteria, egg genetics, age of eggs or the incubator itself. Might be hard to pinpoint specific without knowing these factors.
