Eggs my coturnix female laid day 1 and 2... Day 2 is eggzilla!!! Poor thing made all sorts of noise popping this one out!!!

Your not alone. I have one hen that lays like that, sometimes just a regular size egg and bout every other day she will put out a larger one and yes she squeales. That's what catches my attention to go see. Although the eggs are larger I have yet to get a double yolk.

Those are nice sized eggs model-A, wish I still had a few that laid eggs that big. I have 1 hen, either a golden or brown, that lays eggs that big but she is the exception around here these days.

Are those single yolks ? They are almost if not the size of some bantam chicken eggs.

They look like they probably are. Most double yolkers I've seen were very elongated.

Wow, that is BIG! I know that when I had quails, they sure laid those eggs like mad!!

may have had something to do with daylight hours?, yes they are single yolkers. the heat is taking some size off them right now, which makes some sense to me.

certainly nicer to peel just a few less than you have to for that quail egg salad sandwich
