eglu?????

I've heard some not so great things about the amount of space the eglu provides, as well as some owners complaining about pecking/cannibalism issues that seem to have been caused by the lack of space. But it sounds like other people are happy.

We chose to build our own, and while that does entail maintenance, we spent about 300 bucks and made a raised coop large enough for 8 standard hens with a small covered and enclosed run that we later expanded. It took about two weeks to build it and a lot of trips to the hardware store. Since then, I've seen some used on Craigslist that looked fine and tractor supply company sells larger premades for less than eglu, at least in my area. We've recently had to improvise a hospital run for a hen who had vent issues and found that it wasn't as hard to make a non-fancy coop/run combination as we thought.

every online pet community has its opinions and the chicken community is no different, i own a cattery and on the advice of the cat community switched from the very high quality cat food i was feeding to go grain free i switched to what is regarded as the best feed on the market, what did i get? sickly kittens. i switched back and everything returned to normal so beware of the advice of the internet masses i think the eglu looks wonderful

I have the Eglu cube with the 3 meter run for my 4 hens. Plenty of room and they seem to get along very well.
