I got my first Egyptian Fayoumis last spring. She is a beautiful bird, however, I have not been able to enjoy her much. She has been broody since mid April. I have tried every trick in the book to break this cycle but nothing works. She even "broods" in a wire bottom cage suspended from the coop wall!
Letting her hatch chicks is not a possibility I have too many chickens now.
I was just curious about anyone out there that has this breed and there experience with this broody trait.
She is persistant I give her that much. By the way, she is highly protective. At first she would peck and peck and peck my hand as I collected the eggs from underneath her but now I just reach in very quickly grab her and put her on the floor. She has even flogged me in this state of mind.
