I'm in Central Maine and I have been fantasizing about obtaining some waterfowl eggs. There used to be a farm about two hours south which had everything- even swans- but they've closed up and aren't breeding anymore. :hit

I'm watching this thread for waterfowl eggs in the Northern New England area.

Hi Ladycluck,
Water Fowl can be a lot of fun. I used to have ducks and pilgrim geese. Good luck and if you want geese I highly recommend Pilgrims.
Thank you cppeace! I looked into them and I especially like that they are autosexing from hatch. According to what I read, they are also reasonably tame to work with. Do you know if they are cold-hardy?

Mine did fine here in mid Missouri. They had a good place to escape the weather when they needed but otherwise nothing special for winter that any other animal didn't get.
They are very smart and docile. I never had to worry about being pinched. My goose was very observant and figured things out fast. The gander would hiss at things but never attack anything. They were my first and only geese but I liked them.
