Then you are good to go! Was the flooring metal originally? I do like the idea of a trailer based coop! If you move, you can haul the coop along with you.

The Airstream body is usually stainless steel, and are usually quite expensive when bought new.

Not sure what is under the wood cheapy stuff on the floor, we just threw laminate flooring remnants on top of the floor. We keep a really thick layer of shavings on the floor

I understand. Still, it is a neat idea!

I feel like I am threadjacking so sorry to OP, BUT as I said in an earlier post ours doesnt get that hot. When it hit 108 here we lost chickens, but NONE of the ones we lost were in the camper, did they pant sure, but they all made it just fine. We put a big ole box fan up at the door and face it to blow through the camper, we joke we live in a wind tunnel, as there always seems to be a breeze here, but it really doesnt get that hot, maybe its because of the color we have? I dont know, I can only tell you MY experience with our camper coop has been fine.

I am in the process of converting my pop up. I put laminate for the floor and vinyl on the wood surfaces. It will house 10-15 birds. I don't use it in the winter, it would be too drafty. The bed area are now a feeding station and a lounge area. The nest boxes sit on the built in seats for the dining table. They have a roost area on each side also. Its still a work in progress, but works great so far.

Here's a fuzzy shot of the roosts made up of our local Eastern Red Cedar.

The project will be completed in September. The 28 chicks now are flitting around in it and love their new hippy pad.

Now to answer a few of the questions...the flooring is plywood for now,but will be covered with linoleum this fall.

Yes, it is hot here in South Dakota, but our chickens have always been free rangers, so they are not kept in the trailer during they day. They just hang out in the shade with me and observe me drinking Hamm's.

We have never lost a bird during our harsh winters. We keep draft free coops and they handle it just fine. Once in awhile the tips of combs get a little nipped by the cold though.

Of course we could sell an Airstream on ebay or whatever and make a few bucks. I traded a $1500 motorcycle for this gem and came out ahead. This coop will outlast anything on the market made out of wood. We won't have to rebuild 20 years from now.

I really like the pop-up coop that a member submitted! We will most likely put our coming batch of quail in something smaller and more portable like that.

I really like the roosts too. It seems very spacious inside. Your chickens have their own jungle gym!
