Hello! This is my fist time battling mites (womp womp), and I applied Permethrin 10 via spray to my hens, cleaned out their coop and sprayed it down, put in new nesting pads and hemp, and sprayed down their run. I also have been spreading out First Saturday Lime in the coop and main run. Unfortunately a few girls still have visible mites and are itching at night.
  • My order of Elector PSP arrived today, and so I am wondering how long I need to wait before using this method to treat the hens & coop (I completed the Permethrin application on Monday.)
  • We also have a chicken tunnel leading to another run area (which might be where they got mites), would you keep the girls contained in the main run (also would you prohibit them from free-ranging until the mites are resolved?)
Thank you SO much for your help, I desperately want my girls to overcome this issue and feel more comfortable!

Greetings & Salutations. Welcome SierraC.

Someone should reply soon with your answers. Did you or can you treat the tunnel?

This is a wonderful site on which to Learn and enjoy.
