Electric fence for geese

I know of at least one goose that was killed after getting caught in a 3-wire electric 8v fence. I would not recommend it. They aren't hard to keep contained, so if you can use something else....

Initially I had excellent luck with the electric netting, however I almost lost a goose after it was up about a year when he got his head stuck in the fence and lord knows how many times he was shocked until I discovered him when I got home. He ended up being fine, but that and a predator issue caused me to change my pens. I now have them penned behind tall chain link for nights, and they are let into fenced grassy paddocks (4foot and up) during the day.

As has already been said, by itself, no. On the other hand.... I am so paranoid of loosing my flock that I used 6' welded wire for the inside fence, covered the top as well and then used an electric fence around the outside. I set the fence 2 1/2' away from the inner one, so that the geese and ducks wouldn't be so apt to touch it when sticking their heads through the welded wire fence. It's worked for me so far but I check it everyday and make sure the distance between them and it, is still all good.
