My run is closed in with 6 foot chicken wire. 1 foot flat on the ground outside and 5 feet as a fence with wood posts. I am going to run electric wires on the outside of the fence. I want to use the chicken wire as the ground and connect the ground from the charger to the fence. Will this work. Should I put in ground rods also. The instructions I have read say the ground must be 50 feet from a buried water line. Since a water line runs under my coop I would have to have the ground 50 feet from the charger. I know there are a lot of experts here I would like your opinions.
