Electric fence questions

most products geared to cats work on having a 45 degree angled "topper" of wire, mesh, etc pointed in the direction of repellance (so to keep them out, pointed out.... these originated with folks seeking to keep their cats in their yard) extending about 18 inches.

I want to SHOCK them into next week!

Thanks

Feral or inconsiderate owners?
Might need a mighty wide tack strip on top of fence....
...or pretty easy to trap...look into the laws there.

Are your birds free range or in a run(can't remember)?
Not likely cats would be a threat to adult chickens,
but I don't like them around either.

They are in the "barnyard" which is about 2500 sq ft , all fenced in with 6' wood fence. The cats are neighbors outside cats which have managed to evade the many preditors we have in abundance for several years now. 2 neighbors with free range cats. My animals are behind my fence.

I don't want to trap them i just want them to stay aWay
