electric fence?

It is a possibility if they get caught in it. I've never used electrified netting with my chickens, but I've read a sad story on this forum about a chicken that got stuck. That seems to me to be a rare occurrence, but I don't know.

I am thinking about getting chickens in the spring and an wondering if an electric fence will hurt my chickens? i have a lot of animals that might kill my chickens. should i just keep the fence running at night?

this is the fence: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QFYFPC4/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A36STBE1TJHB9T&psc=1
A permanent fence with netting overhead and an apron buried a foot in the ground would protect your chickens better than electric netting .This is designed to be used as a moveable fence with chickens on pasture in a chicken tractor, etc.Their feathers prevent chickens from being injured by electric netting unless trapped in it.

I have electric wires around my coops and pens. The predators know they're there. The birds will be OK. Feathers are good insulators. A good strong fence charger is a must. If it doesn't put out enough predators will go right through it. Some people bait their wires to get predators to touch them with their tongue, nose or lips. Good luck...

I do have a switch below the fence charger to cut the juice. I usually just unplug it. The power to the coops is in the barn, which is behind the coops.

I use poly rope wire. If a predator touches it, it will know it. I do leave it on unless I'm out working around the coops because I have had a fox one time dig under a gate and kill several birds. I put concrete under the gates and a piece of wire across the bottom of the gates because most often a predator will explore first with its nose. I use a piece of underground wire under the gate under the cement to complete the circuit and attach the other wire on the bottom of the gate to it. I know it works by accidentally touching it. It may not be too pretty but works.
A predator started to dig but once it touched the wire aborted the attempt
