Hi there, I am completely new to electric fencing. I have the electric poultry netting, was told I needed an energiser, 12v battery and solar panel charger for battery so have got these to what I could afford, I’m not entirely sure how to attach the solar panel to my battery - it does come with crocodile clips and o rings. So I can attach to my battery but my energiser is attached to my battery. Do I put them both on? Or attach it via the o rings to the energiser too. (My energiser is attached to the ground stake and a hook for the fence via o rings) hope this makes sense. Or have I bought the wrong things? 🙈 any help would be much appreciated as I’m relying on the fence to protect my animals.

Let me tackle these questions.
Set up the fencing, It should have come with at least some instruction on best way to install/position.
Connect Energizer, one to grounding rod, ant other to fence. Make sure the grounding rod is sufficiently in ground to work properly. It also works best when earth is somewhat moist, not dried out. Electricity does not travel well thru dry earth.
Attach the battery to the energizer, and figure out a way to test if working. There are special meters (instruments) to be purchased to do that test. If you touch it yourself, the shock would be not something you would want.

Assuming all is working then,,, connect the solar panel wires to the battery. It should have come with instructions. Make sure that you are aware of polarity, to be correct. + to + and - to - ... Sometimes it is just color coded. Red will usually be the + and black, or white would be the -.
The solar panel is what puts back the electricity, (into battery) the energizer uses up .
Another thing about the solar panel,,,,, it should be mounted (oriented) to receive most direct sunlight. The way you have is is not the best in my opinion. I think it should face somewhat up towards the sun more directly.

Ask what ever else you encounter in your installation.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and :welcome

That is absolutely fantastic! Thankyou so so much with your help. Honestly you have no idea how great that is.

I was thinking that regarding solar panel position so can change that no problem. Thankyou.
I have my fence set up all ready it was just the attaching the solar to the battery via the crocodile clips when it was all ready attached to the energiser via crocodile clips. I was starting to think I’d got the wrong battery and needed a dual connection battery or something.
thankyou again!! Much appreciated!! 🙏🙂
