Electric Fencing

I was wondering if anyboddy has used electric fencing for there chickens. Not the poultry netting, regular electric fence. How did you make the chickens stay in the fence. and how you designed it.

Depending on how much power you have coming from it, it can kill them. I've had it happen

We only turn ours on at night to keep predators away from the coops.

You can't unless you put so many wires they can't get between them.

The proper type of charger set up correctly shouldn't kill anything​

how high would you need to put one for them to not jump over them.

There's the issue there. If they jump they are not grounded an cant get shocked so there's no point in electric more than 6 inches off the ground. You could run alternating hot an ground wires but that's hard to implement in reality.

Can electric fencing keep chickens from crossing a road. Our chickens cross the country road in front of our house and go into the neighbors yard. Our neighbors doesn't care if they are over there but he might just be being nice. Plus the road is busy with farm traffic and don't want them ran over.
