@DickMidnight , that's a great idea....my coop is still in progress. The guy building it still has to make the "porch", so I'll ask him, not sure he will have the room because he said my gate was already in the way.
@Aunt Angus Yep, love my electric fence. I had a huge massacre (lost 6 of my chickens which was very traumatic for me) a few years back, so I don't want to have to worry about running to the store and something happening. I just moved to the city, and we do have raccoons and hawks but it's the random dogs that present the biggest problem. I can lock up my chickens at night so that eliminates raccoons and is completely under my control. Thankfully there are no mountain lions here. Eeek!
