electric skillet as incubator- experiment- coturnix quail

An optimist, huh?

Totally had a weird dream about balut last night..... :/haha

Actually I'm pulling for her, I just kid her because shes using a skillet to er ah cook with...

In the Philippines the Balut sellers come out at dusk singing "BAALOOOT"

like the beer vendor at a stadium....

Nothin yet... >.> hatch little eggs! Hatch! ... would it be possible to float test them to see if they are "cooked" vs not?

Hahaha i guess i will just have to yell for them louder then. I think they feel heavier.. definitely heavier than the fresh eggs.. but i am just so worried they will hatch the little bit i am asleep or when i have to drive hubs to work.

First chick hatched day 18, day before yesterday. Came back from pickin up hubs and the lil guy was half dried off. Hatched about 8:30am.
Second chick i saw pipped half around the top at 5pm and was hatched out by 5:30pm.
Today day 20. I noticed a small cracked circle on an egg at 2:50p yesterday but nothing from it. And midnight i saw a decent spot pipped on a different egg. This morning there was barely any more of it pipped but was a hole in the showing membrane. Back from pickin up hubs and snothin more on it... i was worried so i took tweezers and super gently ripped a bigger hole in the membrane so it didnt suffocate and cracked more of the shell. Now its nearly 9am and its hatched out with a bit of help. Its a bit more wobbly and tired than the other two were. Perkin right up it seems though.

The first two chicks seem they will be tibetan tuxedos. Third chick isnt quite dry but i am guessin it will be too.

Workin on vids and pics.
