My electric went out for 2.5 hours on Tuesday. After the first 3 eggs had pipped. Luckily it was around 100 degrees outside, so there I was, carring the incubator around, tryng to get it to mainatin heat. Our electric has never gone out for more than 5 minutes since we lived here. And my hatch rates have never been anything spectacular. But so far we have 4 babies and one more pipping out of 6. I guess using homegrown eggs really does make a difference. I'm just so glad we were able to make it through the brown-out. The school even closed. Anyone need a few buff bantam cochins? Looks like I'm going to have a few morer than I anticipated!!
