i have an unsecured chicken wire fence attached to my secure run. I use it for free ranging. I want to add electric wire 4 inches from bottom and near top to deter coons and coyotes. I can’t keep an eye on them all day while they are out. The fence is 40ftx40ft.
I would also run along the bottom of my 12x12 hardware fence run for added security. I am looking at this unit- ac powered. Would it have the shock power to deter a coyote?

I’d think so ,
We have that unit for our cattle pasture , calves have take a few good runs at the wire and jumped back .

No coyotes here though

I went to their website and they listed suitable to deter dogs.... the next step up is good for full size cows and horses. Don’t think I need that strong. Idk.

This charger will be the most important component of your E fence setup. Don't scrimp on it. Mine is rated at 3 joules, good for 30 miles of fence and when tested, dishes out 13,000+ volts of "get their attention". It is not a tickle.....nor is it a mild shock......it is a violent, painful shock. Nothing and nobody seems willing to come back to risk two such events. When my fence dips to as low as 5,000 volts, I get busy to find out why. I want my guests to experience the BIG EVENT!!!!
