Hi,
Is it ok to switch out the chickens regular water for electrolyte/vitamin water while they are taking Valbazen?
Just wondering because we've read 'yes it is ok' they need it and we've read 'no it's not ok' because it will interfere with the effectiveness of the medicine.
Thank you for your help, opinions & suggestions! :)

Hi @backinthecoop45

How are you administering the Valbazen?

The normal dosage for Valbazen is 1/2ml orally then repeat in 10 days. (for large fowl).

I'm not quite sure what your question is...you may want to provide them with fresh plain water on the day that you treat each chicken with the Valbazen.
You can provide them with the electrolyte/vitamin water on other days if you wish - electrolytes contain extra salt/sugar, so imho, they should not be something that is provided on a daily basis. Once a week for an added boost should be sufficient if you are providing them with a complete, nutritionally balance poultry feed for the age of your birds.

Hi & thank you so much for all your information. We did exactly that. They are all doing well now despite this nasty cold snap we're having. We have them on Nutrena Nature Wise All Flock 18% & fresh clean water daily then we switch to the 16% layer in the Spring. :)
