I asked this in another thread, but was not sure if it was the correct one to be asking in.

I was told by the Feed store where I purchased my chicks (19 days old now) that I should use the electrolytes for chicks. As they are now closed for the weekend, I can't ask them. I am still using it !!! Should I discontinue using it? I have not had problems with them so far.

I only give my birds electrolytes when it is hot out and for a max of 3 days then back to plain water. This is the first year I have given it to my birds as it has been in the upper 90's here. I have never given my older birds any even when they were chicks. I have had no problems with them.

darn, ok thanks. I will start to wean them off of it then. Another "Newbie" blunder

Am I to look for any type of repercussions for having them on this for this amount of time?

No. I really don't think it will hurt them. I left it in the waterer in my birds coop for over a week but they tend to drink mostly out of the waterer that is in their run. I had put some electrolytes in both.

I may be coming up to TC sometime this summer. I am going through cancer treatment right now. My treatments should be ending soon so I may take a vacation.

Sorry to hear about the cancer, wicked thing that is and what it does to people. My prayers are with you for a healthy outcome..

That would be a great vacation visiting family and friends, to me the best kind!! Would love to have you stop by if you have the time, the coffee is always only 3 minutes from start to finish

Ah, Don's and their Strawberry Shakes... Hard to resist those.

Thanks for the info that they should not be harmed by having them on it for longer than required. Makes me feel somewhat better
