Electrolytes question*

My chicks will be here soon and I'm wanting to know if I need to put an electrolytes packet in their water the first day? If so, do they also need water without electrolytes?

I always start of with electrolytes when I receive new chicks then, based on their behavior, transition to clear water over the next few days to a week. Good luck and enjoy your new babies...and post pictures...we all live for pictures.

I use Save A Chick electrolytes and probiotics for the first week or so (you can mix the two) and then switch to ACV.

And they are perfect. Now, just watch how fast they grow. A few weeks down the road you will have real live chickens!!!

I usually don't use electrolytes unless they show signs of being sick or sluggish. That's when I move in the medicated feed and electrolytes. It saves some money to hold off on buying anything like that until you need it. Just check on them frequently every hour and watch them for a few minutes.
