Electrolytes - when is too much

How much is too much? Should I offer electrolytes every day during extreme heat? I lost one chicken a couple of days ago and I have no idea why but thinking maybe it was the heat? It was quick and sudden and the heat index was between 107-109 that day (this is their first true summer). We are going on day 3 of 107-109. I gave electrolytes the past couple of days but thinking I should do water today, out of fear of too much electro? I do also offer plain water but 2 of them just go to the electrolyte water and the other one just goes to plain water (I think maybe because she thinks she isn't "allowed" to drink from the main waterer per head hen, but I haven't seen that, just guessing.

Usual rule of thumb is supplements should not be given more than a week.
Chickens don't sweat like we do so they don't lose salt quickly

I recommend not more than once a week (not sure if nuthatched skipped a word). And to still offer plain water at the same time.
