electrolytes?

I have a package of "DurVet" vitimins and electrolytes. 4oz.net wt. The recipe for "drinking water" is 1/2 package in 55 gallons or 1 package in 110 gallons. Does anyone use this stuff? If so how do I mix this for my chickens? If not what do you use and how do you mix it?
It's not something I intend to use on a regular basis but occasionally I thought the vitamins would be good.

I use it at the rate of 1/4 tsp. per Gallon..

I wonder that too... DH mixed up the WHOLE package. I have it in the fridge. How long will it last mixed up and refrigerated?
