eleven new baby duckies

Adorable!! I love ducklings!! You have 45 ducks?? If you dont mind me asking how much feed do you go thru with all of them? I only have 2 pekin's that are 6 weeks old and I want to get another one but they eat so much more the chickens. Unless its just the chickens kicking out the food and wasting it...

14 chickens, 16 geese and 50 or 55 ducks now...they go through three 50# bags of cracked corn, three 50# bags of rolled oats, and six or seven 50# bags of the laying crumbles per month...less when there is good grass and stuff...they also get lots of peas, cat food, greens I cut from the yard and the forest...not spoiled or anything...it is a big bite out of my funds, but I love them and they are my entertainment...my "extended family" if you will...I turn down sales to those who would eat them...I sell a few eggs and give a lot of eggs away to poor people in the area with kids to feed...I am the only human here and I don't need much...and I love p&j...

i love hatching mutts. you never know exactly what you're going to get. they are adorable. i feel your pain. i have over 150 ducks and the feed bill is consantly growing. with just my young ducks i go through 150 pounds of starter/grower a week. and the adults get lots of whole corn, oats, wheat, and laying pellets(before and during the season). plus greens and bugs and my toes if i'm not careful.
