I heard my wild eastern tom knocking on the sliding glass doors to our basement yesterday, so I snapped some pics of him and noticed he was pecking at the tom in the reflection. LOL What a goof!

He is so funny, but not nasty at all. He's going on 4 yrs old and quite the gentleman. He tends to avoid us during breeding season. Now that it's getting cold out, he spends more time closer to us and the house. When he sees me come outside, he comes running down from the pumpkin patch like the road runner and does a silly dance, running in circles and flapping his wings, to beg for treats before bed. I have to get that on video! It's so adorable seeing this big bird do his "give me treats dance".

Our two toms were out doing the `happy' dance this morning (squatting, chasing each other flying up and running `round). It was warmer this morning and they enjoy the sun. What I find interesting is that pecking order seems to disappear when they're doing this with the alpha Slate allowing his subordinate to chase him with just as much enthusiam as the other-way-around.

Thanks for posting those shots (nice guy!).

Yeah, that happy dance is pretty cool. I have a pen of about 10 young hens and they do it every day too. It's so neat when a large group does it.
