How many here has been embarassed by your peas behavior? Not all of you have a "Thang" in your flock to relate to as we have here, consider yourself all very lucky. But this is not about that "twink" it's all my breeders acting crazy here last Sunday.
Had a friend come here on Sunday and he knew we had grown large in peafowl but had not seen Pea Palace nor any of the breeding birds. So I offered him a view inside of the Palace to see everyone. Everything was fine until he turned and started to walk down the walkway between the pens. The honking started, hens started flying around, and the males all did the same. You would think a bobcat was inside trying to get a meal!
I guess I never realized my group might,,,,,,just might recognize me. Or tolerate me? Or like me? After he left a few hours later I had to feed and water them and it was like nothing happened. Roadtrip was displaying inside his pen and I actually had to move his train to get him to move to fill the feedbowl. Majik,my Midnight male flew off the perch to the ground as he normally does and he too needed coaxed out of my way.
My wife had no issues with them while I went down south a few weeks ago and all she has done is maybe once a week help with chores just to look at the males.I guess since we don't make pets out of them here I took their calm demeanor for granted. But I never expected such a huge change in how they react to strangers. Anyone else notice this?
