Embarassed rooster

My rooster has been crowing ALL afternoon. He thinks we are gone right now, so he is crowing. If I go ut to look at him or even make a noise in the house he will stop crowing. Why is this happening?

I swear, sometimes I think they "just know". Mine have been trying to crow every morning, but then stopped for several days. I found someone with a ranch who just wants some bantams to fly around and eat grasshoppers. He doesn't eat any of his animals. When I told them the good news, they immediately started crowing again.
