Our goose started laying eggs for about two weeks and started sitting on Dec. 9th. She has a huge nest of hay 3 feet wide and 12" deep I am fairly sure nesting in Dec. is not a usual thing. Is there a chance these eggs will hatch? The goose and her other female and male have their own house and they sleep there. They are fully protected with a large covered roof closed in run. We let the other male and female out side every day. The setting female seldom leaves the nest and when she does the other female sits automatically. The two female geese sleep together on the nest at night. The male is VERY protective of the nest and females. What's the chance the eggs will hatch. The geese were 3 days old when we got then on April 24, 2021. We enjoy seeing how God has given the instinct to these wonderful geese.

I don't see why they wouldn't hatch, sounds like they are sitting and taking care of everything. And they will all take care of the goslings too. Even Dad. Only problem might be the temps. Mama will keep them warm but you'll have to monitor their outside time. Or I would. Since your geese are young they will be learning as they go.
Be sure to keep us updated on how it's going.

Any goslings?
