Hello!
We have 5 adorable goslings (15 days old now), they came sexed by Metzer, and I replaced their little elastic bands (left leg ladies, right leg gentlemen) with my own elastics (because my own lack of cut-the-web-bravery, and no zipties in my house, nor poultry banding supplies in the local farm store)
Well, after nearly two weeks of my elastics surviving all sorts of goosey activity, and my incessant checking, two bands come off overnight!
And now I'm snow-blind from staring at these goslings trying to compare them to their siblings.
Red has a red elastic now, white has none. B is for boy, G is girl (preserved from their original bands).
Some are destined for Christmas Feast, but I'd like to keep a breeding pair, which is why it is important to me to keep the genders known..
