He smiled, and pet him through the fence. "Guess what, little guy? Somone's payin' for your stud fee," said Dennis to the stallion, taking the halter and lead rope from the fence and hopping into the pastures.
"Little?" he retorted with a snort
Dennis stroked his neck, and gently slid the halter and lead rope onto his face. He quickly groomed Evander before having him lead down the hall towards the breeding area.
He followed with out hesitation, his tail swishing back and fourth.
In the area were two mares ties orderly in their assigned areas, both pure Arabian. The light bay one to the left turned her concave neck towards Evander and nickered, while the white-grey one to the right stood completely still, trying to ignore the stallion's approaching hoofsteps.
Evander payed little attention to the bay mare, he nickered to the grey.
Her ears pulled back slightly.
He cocked his head, "Something wrong?"
She didn't respond. Dennis walked Evander a little closer to her.
