Who else has gone to a “makeup free” lifestyle?
Anyone out there choose to
go with their natural beauty?

As I aged, my skin became more sensitive to most products out there. Especially mascara, eye liner, and eye shadow. I tried so many different “dermatologist recommended” brands with no success.

I gave up wearing makeup over ten years ago.
No foundation, No powder, No blush, No eye makeup.
On special occasions, I will wear light lipstick or lipgloss.
I do keep chapstick with me in my purse.

Let me hear your “Make-up free” stories.

Please Note: This thread is not intended to bash makeup wearers.

My mom never really learned how to apply makeup, as such neither did I. As a kid I just didn't have any interest in it, as an adult I don't have time for it. Sometimes I think it would be fun, I definitely do costume makeup for Halloween and stuff like that, but I almost never go out anywhere I would feel "deserves" it. And I have other things I'd prefer to spend my time and money on.

Same. I never learned to use makeup or even braid my hair behind my head. 🫣 I was too busy putting tiny dog harnesses on my chickens. 😅
I can do my hair and put it up, but nothing really fancy. It’s very curly and used to be more-than-arm-length, which was a little much to manage when learning to braid. It’s a bit of a sore spot now I’m in college that I can’t do my hair like most people…

I’m glad I didn’t get into makeup when I was little; I don’t ever want to feel like my ‘real face’ has to be hidden and adjusted. I don’t always feel confident and good about how I look, but at least I know that I’m going about my life as I really am.

I was a tomboy growing up (and still am) and you couldn't pay me to give a hoot about makeup. As an adult, you couldn't pay me to care and I see no reason to waste 30 minutes of my time in the morning that I could spend sitting and drinking coffee at work (or doing literally anything else) on something that'll just get ruined on the bike ride in. Besides, I'd rather spend my money on other things like tea, video games, plants and animals :D

I tried wearing makeup in hs and hated it. For a while I just used mascara and eye-liner, then I quit. My thinking was and is, what do I have to "make up" for? My face is fine the way God made it. Why don't men wear make-up? It's absurd, what a waste of time, energy and money. This is my face. If you don't like it, don't look at it! The whole cosmetics industry is designed around making women feel insecure about themselves. Stop it, we are beautiful!

I haven't worn makeup since around 2010. When I worked in offices or where I needed to conform, I did. However, nearly everything irritated my eyes, and I really do enjoy rubbing them throughout the day. What put me over the edge was teaching, and getting up at 4:15 if I wanted to take a shower and put on make up.

First, the shower went. I take one the night before. Then the make up went. I'd rather sleep, and the kids never say anything negative (and they're hs).

I was surprised about the kids, actually, but they seem to either not notice or not care. I haven't had a single negative comment from anyone.
