This is my roughly 4 year old white brahma hen. This morning around 11 she was acting weird when I left for work. I just got home (Now 7:00) and she’s laying down fully responsive and not gripping my finger when i push into her foot. Normally she would squeeze it really hard. Help please! She is the first bird I got for my Flock and is important to me and my little brother. Taking her to a vet is not an option.

First thing, provide her some sugar water for shock. 1 cup of warm water with 1 tsp of sugar mixed in. Check to see if she has egg stuck. If so, she may be eggbound. Check her over for any injuries too.

Some educators will be on shortly but try those steps while you wait.

Thank you. her vent looks totally fine and her whole belly/crop is warm but doesnt feel swollen or anything

Will she eat? Add some warm water to her chicken food to make a mash.

Maybe she injured herself hopping down from the roost bars? Does she appear to be in pain?

Her color looks good.
her roost bars arent high up at all. she mostly sleeps in a nesting box attached to the side of her coop. i’m trying to figure out if i can give this to her, and if so how much of a crushed tablet to how much water. google is barely helping.
