Backstory: got some silkies from a lady that didn't have time for them anymore, 5 hens sitting on about 50 eggs. Half were rotten/had never been candled. Threw out gross ones let them keep good ones. All at various stages of development. They cracked one, I tried to save it to no avail. So I took all that looked closer to hatch and put them in my incubator. I didn't have room for all, but have another incubator that will be here Thursday. I candled 2 days ago, and i could see shadows in the air cell of this one, not completely internally pipped though, just pushing membrane. Didn't have any more room in bator so I thought, maybe they can handle it. Go out today and find it's shell broken off, doesn't look due for a few more days. I've put coconut oil on the membrane, it was dried out, and have it in the incubator. 100 degrees 65% humidity. Still moving some. Does look malpositioned or not quite in hatching position because beak is not where air cell was. What are this babies chances? Anything else I can do besides keep moist?

Oh my goodness! Sorry you didn’t get a response earlier! I have no experience with this, but hoping my response will bump this post up in the threads! Good luck with your little bird!
