my 3 year old gold line chicken called Margret has displayed some very strange behaviour and produced many unsightly things. Her diet is layers pellets and she gets wormed once a month with verm x. She also gets regular treats with involve mixed corn and mealworms. She weighs 3.1Kg

About a month ago we sadly lost one of our hens to a stomach temor and Margret was very close to her, for the last 3 days of her life Margret sat by her non stop and when sh passed Margrets behaviour changed. She seemed more quite and would occasionally make a very strange frog like noise. And at this point she hadn’t laid for about 2 months.

About 3 weeks ago we took her to the vets as she seemed to of got slightly worse and her symptoms included:
- weird croaking frog sound
- laying/pooing white rubbery things ( pictures attached )

We got prescribed with batryil and she was on that for a week with no improvement.
She started to display a few more symptoms which include :
- weird croaking frog sound
- laying white rubbery things
- panting
- head shaking
- yawning
- acting quieter
- sitting down a lot
Over than this she still seems herself and is eating and drinking fine.

We took her to a different vet and now she is now on a weeks worth of meta cam and kesium tabs with quiko calcium supplement. She’s been on it 2 days with no improving and I’m starring to get very worried and she is a very loved family pet. No vet can determine what is wrong with her and we are all very confused. If you could give any suggestions or help me that would be much appreciated.

Did either vet suggest surgery? I suspect she might have salpingitis, which is an infection of the reproductive tract. Surgery is very expensive, as in over $1000, so it's not an option for most people. :( certainly is not an option for me.

Call you vets and ask about doing blood work up and X-rays.

No they did not mention surgery at all? I will be willing to pay an another to save her as she means an awful lot to me.

Do you think it’s worth me giving them a call for X-rays, bloods etc

About 2 weeks ago she laid them every day and then this week she had laid hem about 3 times
I'm thinking that if it is something that medicine can fix that Baytril would have done the job.
I am sorry I don't know what to say.
I have never seen something like this laid on multiple days.
Thanks for sharing.
