Emergency Gambel's quail eggs Update 8/28 4:15pm ALL 9 HATCHED!!Pics!

Gambels Are Supposed To Go 23-24 Days, But Will Often Take A Lil Longer--- 25-26 In Some Cases--- Dont Ask, I Have No Clue, But Thats What They Usually Run For Me Here In This Humid Climate--- Maybe Shorter Out There For You! Sorry It Took So Long To Chime In I Have Been Away From The ;puter' For A Week Or So....

I was having trouble with them in the turner because they are so much more pointed than normal quail eggs, I have them on their sides now and am turning them by hand! They are heavy eggs!

My local quail that nest in my backyard have a brand new bunch of babies. I have to get pics of them, they look so darn cute running in their perfect straight line wherever they go! I went looking for her nest to see if maybe I could slide these in, but her's must have hatched at least a day or so ago.

These are heavy, so I'm hoping they are ok. I tried to candle a couple but the light wasn't bright enough.

When I hatched Gambel's under a similar circumstance they all hatched out in about 20 days. They were the flightiest birds I've ever seen. Don't think that if you get them to hatch, they'll make good pets, they don't.

They need a lot of room (more than other quail) and will be terrified of you. They are the cutest chicks I've ever seen though! You can start to see the top knot almost right away.

I have two pips, and squeeking and rocking in the several of the eggs. What should the humidity be and do they hatch slower than Coturnix? Wouldn't you know, I'm leaving for work and here they are!

Great, my humidity is too low and I'm at home. The one pipped last night but is still peeping really strongly and the others are rocking pretty well and pretty often. Hopefully all will be well when I get home.

Every single egg is rocking and peeping, only the one has the pip still and it's no bigger. They sound very strong and loud though so I'm hoping it goes well. I kicked the humidity up from 58% to 78%.
