I have a 1 week old silkie chick that I found laying on it's side opening and closing it's beak like it was choking. I picked it up and started rubbing it's neck and putting a small drop of water in it's beak every minute or so. After 5 - 10 minutes it started to chirp a little and gasp less. That was about 1/2 hour ago. It's able to stand and chirp but still seems weak and sometimes doing the same gasping thing. I moved it by itself inside where I can watch it. Giving it water with a dropper every 5 - 10 min. Any ideas? Is there an illness that could cause it to act like that or do you think it choked on food or? Any ideas welcome.
