Hi all,
Bad news! I dropped a chicken egg on top of a Day 16 quail egg, it made a serve crack, I sworn I heard a CHEEP from the egg, and it became still. What do I do?!?! Please any help!

Should I start peeling the shell off and hatching it early?
If baby had not started to hatch itself I would find it really risky to move the shell
There will be a membrane that can dry out and full if veins
I would leave it be
It may still have a Chance
What day do they normally hatch ?

They hatch around Day 18, through some hatch on Day 16.
No internal or any signs of pips though.. does seem risky.
I dont want the membrane to dry out though..
Luckily, that didnt break.

What I've done so far: I've raised the humidity to 55%, and used a brush, to gently swipe across the surface of the crack, to make sure the membrane doesn't dry out. I will do this every 5-7 hours

Have you candled it since it got cracked?
I don't think hatching eggs early is really possible, so I think all you can do is keep monitoring it.
:fl
Yep, as soon as it was cracked I tried, I coudnt see movement, but thats normal, I could still see some little veining, but most veinings gone now.

I think all you can do is hope for the best, and keep the humidity how you are.
When assisting a hatch, if have read to use coconut oil to stop it from drying out. I wonder if that is something one could do?
