Other than just calling it a loss....you might try putting some coconut oil on the cracks but not too much, then leave it alone...if it hatches, ok, if not then no harm done.

I dont have coconut oil at the momentI think all you can do is hope for the best, and keep the humidity how you are.
When assisting a hatch, if have read to use coconut oil to stop it from drying out. I wonder if that is something one could do?

That's what I'd be afraid would happen the ion gradient exchange would allow the water to penetrate and then there's too much moisture inside the membrane.Just make sure that you don't drown it, but apart from that it sound good.
