Long story short, I have 5 eggs that have been under a broody between 18-20 days. I'm trying to get them into an emergency incubator for the remainder of the hatch time. No peeping, no pips yet. One chick was smashed in the egg under the hen but had not yet begun to pip that I could tell.

I have:

Styrofoam cooler
60 watt bulb and a heat lamp that I use in a brooder
digital thermometer/hygrometer

Will the 60 watt bulb be enough to create the needed heat?
Can I put the bulb inside the cooler or will it catch on fire? (I don't mean laying it down on the foam, just positioned through the side so I can close the lid.)

I don't know if this will all be in vain or not, but I sure appreciate your help.

At this late stage it's better to leave them under the hen. Make sure it's nice and soft under her. It's unlikely she'll break another one.
