Emergency!! Lost 16 chickens in a week!!

I had a rooster with Marecks so he had leg paralysis also, I gave him a mix ture of St. Johns wart and distilled water. 5-10 drops for bantams 10-15 drops for large fowl. This also stimulates appitite and can heal the paralysis. Make sure you use distilled water, open a capsule mix with a plastic spoon use a baby dropper and make sure it gets on the mucus membranes at the top of the mouth, keep doing this daily until symptoms go away. i hope this helps!!!

If you're looking for toxins and there seems to be birds from other houses near yours, you need to look at water supply. Sometimes things get into the water that can kill animals. Have your water supply tested especially if humans drink from it also.

I saw another thread a couple of days ago about Wal-Mart feed and problems with flocks dying. Have you done a search for other similar problems? That one was in Alaska, too, as I recall.

Hopefully you will get the answers you need soon! Keeping fingers crossed for the rest of your flock. Keep us posted!

The feed most likely was moldy, somehow. You probably had no way of knowing...I'd check with where I purchased it. I think what happenned could happen to anyone. ... If you have chickens, I consistently use Layena or Nutrena, and I make sure it is stored inside where I purchase it.

They store all their feed inside where I bought it. I'm going with nutrena scratch and layer.. The chickens in the coop have about 80% turned around for the better! Yay!!! The ones I have left seem to have their appetites back and I hear a bit of crowing out of there today.. My polish, he's just lingering on along.. The Japanese bantam can walk now and never lost his appetite so he's better

. Just seems all my fav ones died. I had a blue splash Mille, a self blue Mille, all of my Mille fleurs, my pintails and hen mallard, my golden neck roo, 4 houdans and two other splash mixes (old English/duccle).. I have left two silkies, 3 houdans, 3 barred rocks, 3 americaunas and 5 various other duccle bantams. I lost 20 birds, total count, and have 19 left... This sucks! My flock is so much smaller and it makes it that much harder for them to stay warm through this winter.. Oh and I lost two pheasants out of three... Left me with one lonely male, Fez...
Good news is that they're getting better though. Still not completely out of the woods but they're better

Any updates? This is so very sad.
I read they are on the mend but did you ever find out what had happened?
Healing thoughts your way~~~~
