Help! I'm totally new at this - I ordered a genesis incubator (well, my husband did). It came in Thursday, but didn't include any real instructions, just a glossy 4 page insert. It shows nothing about how to adjust the temo, other than to tell me to hold down the up or down button for 3 seconds and the temp should start increasing or decreasing. Well, it doesn't.

When I first plugged it in the display would toggle between set temp, inc temo and humidity level. I let it run from Thurdsay afternoon until this afternoon, all seems ok. I set some eggs in this afternoon that I ordered from a hatchery, and now the display only reads "Set Temp 103.0 F"! I know that before it read "set temp 100.3" but that was higher than the "inc temp" which was usually around 99.8 to 100.00, but it now I have no idea what the real temp is anymore! It's too late to go somewhere and buy a thermometer, (another item that was missing from my order) but I feel sure that this incubator is NOT working correctly!

#1 question - if these eggs have been in there for 8 hours or so, can I take them out and start over when I figure out WHAT is going on with this machine? OR should I just let it go as is and hope that tomorrow I can get a thermomater to see if the temp is really this high? Or.....what SHOULD I do????

I know nothing about hovabators, but they should have a website that gives information. Try that.

I've been all over the internet tonight trying to find anything. All they seem to have out there is info on the previous model - the one without the "control center". I'm so frustrated!

Yes, I did find that earlier but mine has the new "control center" and no dip switches like the others had. Instructions say I'm supposed to press and hold the "up" or "down" arrow buttons to adjust the temp but all that does is switch from F to C and back (which is what you are supposed to get if you hold down both buttons at the same time - when I do that nothing at all happens).

I did find a regular medical thermometer and it shows them temp inside the incubator is 103 degrees. I've cracked the top open hoping that will hold it down a bit till I can figure something out.

Needless to say, I'm not a fan of this incubator.

Yeah. Evidently mine is just BROKEN. Lucky me. It worked just fine until I set my eggs in there. Can I say a cuss word on this forum?????

If you haven't tried already you might try unplugging the incubator for a few minutes then plug it back in and see if that resets the display and maybe you can adjust it then.

I tried unplugging but I didn't leave it unplugged bur for probably less that a minute. I'll try, and if it works you will be my new hero. :)
