EMERGENCY~ New turkey owner and prolapse

I own lots and lots of chickies. I neighbor sold us "hens" that all turned out to be roos, so he traded them back for a turkey hen. This was only two days ago. I've never owned a turkey!! I'm assuming the stress of the move caused this but as of this morning she has an apple sized thing coming out of her vent and shes pushing and pushing sooooo hard. I understand this is a prolapse.

So I rinsed with cool water, used hemm. cream with witch hazel and coated it up nice. I used my fingers to move it back inside and held it for quite awhile. She was relaxed and patient. As soon as I would remove my fingers she would push and out it came. We did this for an hour. I have secluded her into her own shady coop with water, scratch and grass. Shes walking around, eating, and drinking. What else can I do? It just looks so awful and it seems like its getting more red/swollen. To the point that I can't actually get it back in. The cream doesn't seem to be helping!

P.S. She is a pure white turkey and about 15 pounds. I'm not sure the age. Would they be laying eggs at this weight and time of year?

If you can seclude her in a cool area with just enough light so she can find the waterer, this will help calm her down and `damp out' the hormonal response to light/dark cycle. All you can do is check often and apply more prepH/reinsert. Some members have had good luck using honey with, or instead of, the PrepH. A vet can stitch her `up/in' (sometimes reported to work well).
