Similar situation as last time: woke up, geese dead. This time, though, the youngest one (they were about a week apart) was still happy and alive. Brought her downstairs, now she's panting and sorta breathing funny.. Might just be being paranoid, she's in a towel so she may be hot, but PLEASE someone. I can't lose this goose, she's the only one I let myself attach her to. I think it may be some sort of poison, no idea from what though.. Really NO idea. It could be some sort of predator, I have no idea. It's the EXACT situation as last time, except they're older. No idea what I'm doing wrong.

Sorry, I'm a bit frantic. Please, suggestions, anything. I need to help my gosling.

Here's a photo for inspiration.. UGH. I hate mornings.

Sorry, the people who replied to my last thread last time would indeed know what "last time" was.

Anyways, the two were dead, laying out. Their faces were wet. The light was on, and everything else was normal. I just woke up and they were dead.

Yes, they lived on the second floor of the house. They were about one month old, Luna is three weeks. Yesterday they went out to graze and one might've sprained it's leg possibly.

I was running out the door when I made the last post, we had to open my mom's store and were late. Now we're here and Luna is eating grass and peeping and drinking water. Ask for anything else, I'll be glued here all day.

i'm thinking there is something environmental going on here. are you SURE your grass hasnt been treated? weed n feed? even some kind of fall fertilizer??? even before you lived there? do the neighbors have over-chemicalized lawsn??? can you take them up and give them only feed? can you get them filtered, non chlorinated water?

i know you are upset.

is it hot/cold where you are???

see if you can contact cottage rose - she is a great resource.

She smells really bad now.. I dunno if it's her poop, but it's not normal.

We live in a stream valley, and we're the bottom, and I actually do think that it could be that. Right now she's eating CLEAN grass from our organic store..

My mom just told me that my neighbors were spraying for rats yesterday.

If it's a poison, what can we do? Can we give her anything?

I'm getting my mom to call a vet to see, but we don't really have poultry vets out here..

She's resting now, but seems pretty vigarous. She refuses to let me leave her side. She's stopped eating so much, and we gave her some oat bran. She also stopped drinking so much..

Why are they wet like that???
Call around and try to find a vet that does exotic pets
(parrots etc.) Ask all the vets in your area if they know of anybody.
Even a farm vet will be better than nothing.
When you have a crisis like this don't waste time seeking answers online.
Always get your animal into a vet ASAP.
Call Michigan State University animal clinic and ask to speak to an avian vet.
(517) 353-9710
Ask them for referrals if they can't help you.
Keep them in a quiet area where other animals can't bother them, under a heat lamp (but room to get out from under it) if its at all chilly or damp where you are and give electrolytes.
Don't worry about food right now...just give them electrolytes.
