I dont know whats going on. In approx 2 days we have had 4 chickens die. Im freaking out. Our chickens are 9 weeks. Fully feathered. I noticed one was really sluggish yesterday morning. Got home yesterday and she was dead. Everyone else looked ok. Got up this morning, 2 more dead and one not moving very much at all. Got home from work today and she was dead and 4 more are actin sluggish, laying down, laying on thier side, barely moving, won't hold head up, eyes closed, move every know and then. I have isolated the 4 from the rest of the flock. They are in my kitchen now in a tote. What is going on???? What do I need to do???? PLEASE HELP!!!

Have you just changed their feed from starter? How is their poop? Have you checked them for mites or lice?

What are the high and low temperatures in your area? Do they have a heat lamp? Is there a draft in the coop? What is the floor area where they are most of the time made of or like?

I would start by treating for cocci. It won't hurt them to be treated even if they don't have it, and it may save them. A quick round of Corid or Sulmet is a pretty easy course of action.

They are still on starter. Temps have been crazy. it was in the 60's one day last week, had snow a day or two, lows in the 20's coop has pine shaving on the floor. Havent checked for mites or lice, they have a 500 watt heat lamp

What changes have you made if any. You can send them to the agriculture extension and have a necropsy done on them

That's pretty warm for them. Can they get away from the heat if they need too? Are they drinking a lot of water? Have you checked the temp of the coop?

Well when they sleep they all huddle up, so that is why it went with the heat lamp. I can checke the temp in the coop when I get home. We had to run into town

Changes I have made are as follows: Isolated the 4 acting sickly, gave them a some water with a little sugar in it, changed out the bedding in the coop, checked to make sure they had plenty of water and food... And that is it as far as I can remember
