Emergency!! Positioned wrong/Assisted hatching! Please help!

Now here's the pain in the butt, if he's not trying to kick that shell off with in the next few hours then you need to wet him. Now you should only need to wet the part of the shell or membrane against his body. Keep that shell off of him., so all you need to do is take a qtip and wet in a circle around the rim. Do not go inside that shell, sometimes if they don't kick that shell off after a few hours it starts to dry up on there body and stick to them keeping them confined and they can't get out..

He is cute!! OMG Thank you!!!

He's rubbing his eye against the grate and kicking. it wont hurt him will it?

No it's the best thing for him, if you had something soft down on that bottom, his floppy feet would slip and slide all over the place and he would get Spraddled legs, and issue we don't want to deal with.

He'll be out in no time, it's ok if he falls to the side, he'll retain his grip once those toes hit that bottom.. He needs to build up his muscles. Are the eyes opened at all.

He definitely wants completely out of that darn egg! He's had enough of being confined. Me and my boyfriend have agreed that this duck will be the most spoiled little thing the world has ever seen!! Mealworms for days!! Thank you sooooooo much!!!!!! We are going to keep a close watch on him to make sure he stays hydrated and gets out safely!

Not to many meal worms, limit them, to many can cause angel wing. Angel wings is cause by having to much protein. If you can make it to the store tomorrow get yourself some vitamin b complete and drop a pill per quart of water. He needs his naicin...

But he can't drink or eat anything until his has full muscle control with his neck, is walking around and dried off. He can go without for a max of three days, but I do not advise you wait that long. Once he's out give him about 24 hours then he should be fully dried and ready to go..
