Should I just leave it as is since she's old, not in pain, eating and drinking and acting normal?

Mareks tumors can appear anywhere and internally on organs, but I just remembered that one that I had seen.

benadryl... how much for a chicken... I once OD'd on benadryl myself do to a horrible reaction to the juice from a plant in my garden...

Tick bites can cause large swollen areas that can appear purplish due to bleeding. If that could be a possibility, you could try giving 1/2 of a 25 mg Benadryl tablet orally. A tumor might be less likely if it swelled that large overnight.

no ticks in my area.... bee sting a possibility... but looks like the photo casued by Mareks disease

NOPE NOT Mareks disease... yes like the photo from Cornell but further research and definitely not Mareks disease. No other characteristics

It’s some sort of swelling.
You want it to go down before it closes her throat.

What does the inside of her beak look like, especially under the tongue and is there a bad odor?

I OPENED the crowed (1/2") this morning. No blood, puss and very much like cutting into gristle. I decided to not remove it since it is so large. However when I caught her I found another tumor like growth on her chest. It looked like hard poop. While my friend held her, I removed the entire surface growth on her chest. It appears the interior was full of tiny white grain like (similar to chia) hard pebbles. The area removed is about a 1 inch circle. She's now resting in my hospital cage. ANY FEEDBACK ... I'M VERY INTERESTED. P.S. I've always fed only organic feed.
