And here she is, a couple of years later. It appears that where she had lost some feathers on her neck, they have come back thin and white, like the under-feather insulation.

Amazing repair and a beautiful hen!

We had a young bantam cochin hen with a similar injury. We treated the wound and kept her apart from the flock until she healed, and she's also good as new. She's now the matriarch of the flock at 10 years old.
