Emergency, Urgent help needed!! Pooping Blood?

Help, I have no idea what it could be. Two have died and more are pooping blood now. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? They are only 1-2 months old.

Almost definitely Cocci, and late stage at that. You need to get them some Corid ASAP and put it in their water. If not drinking well, you can carefully syringe feed the corid water (don't force it, just dribble it on the side of the beak so they swallow).

They have coccidiosis. This is a very deadly and contagious sickness is animals, especially birds. You need to quickly go to the closest feed store, Tractor Supply, or wherever you get you animal supplies and get CORID. It is for use in cattle, so you will find it in the section of cattle treatments. It is in a white bag with red lettering. It will have the word ( amprolium ) under the CORID lettering. Here is how you use it for chicks -. put a half of a teaspoon into a gal. of water. Mix this very well and give this and only this, to them for their drinking water. Do this for 5 days straight. While you are there, at the store, see if they have what is called Save-a-Chick. It is little packets of powder. There are like 3 packs to a strip. After the CORID treatment give this Save-a-Chick to them in thier water. This is a electrolyte for birds. Also move them out of the pen that you have them in. Clean it out very well, and scrub it down with clorox. Let it dry good before putting them back. Do you use pine shavings ? This is a good bedding as it is easy to clean out and put fresh in. I wish you the best. It is not fun to watch chicks die !

I find that hard to believe, considering that they are on medicated feed and have never been around other chicks. They are also in my garage and no where near the coop.

Medicated feed will not always keep this away. I don't know where you live, but if you are having hot, humid weather this gives rise to these kind of illnesses. Some of my chicks had it, and i am a clean freak and they are on medicated feed also. Just happens sometimes !

OK, so I already have the amprolium for the water. I can give them that. I know it works, but it says it has to be the only source, so I have to take them off the med feed?

Its probably coccidia. Get the corid and also food grade DE. It cleared up my chicks really fast.

No -- it has to be the only source of water. They have to still have feed. A bird will not live long on just water. Hope your chicks soon feel better !

Thanks to everyone for trying to help me. I am very familiar with the poop chart. I know they have to have feed. My question is if I can use the medicated feed and the aprolium water. But I spoke with a vet at the company from the product I am using. I have to take them off the medicated feed and just give them regular feed. Thanks for the diagnosis of coccidosis. I have heard many mixed results about the DE.
